Root Canal

A root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or infected. Root canal treatment is necessary when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to spread all the way to the pulp. If an infection is allowed to continue, it can begin to eat away at surrounding bone, causing an abscess. An abscess can weaken your entire immune system and can be extremely painful.

An infected nerve cannot heal on its own. So it’s necessary to go to the dentist, treat your condition and get recommended any additional therapies. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed and inside the tooth is cleaned and sealed.
